The application is designed to integrate Continuous Glucose Monitoring (CGM) with artificial intelligence to offer real-time personalized feedback and dietary advice for managing Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus. By using the application, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

2. Information We Collect

To provide precision dietary guidance and holistic diabetes management, we collect the following categories of data:

A. Personal and Account Information

  • Account Details: Username, email address, and secure password.
  • Demographics: Age.

B. Health and Clinical Data

  • Physical Measurements: Height, weight, and Body Mass Index (BMI).
  • Glucose Monitoring: Continuous Glucose Monitoring (CGM) device data tracking real-time blood glucose levels.
  • Laboratory and Medical History: Glycated Hemoglobin (HbA1c) levels, duration of diabetes, duration of oral hypoglycemic agent (OHA) therapy, and neuropathy symptoms.

C. Lifestyle and Dietary Data

  • Daily Logs: Detailed food diaries maintained through a diet recall application, including every food and beverage consumed and the respective time and date.
  • Preferences: Individual dietary preferences, including broad preferences such as veg/nonveg or South Indian/North Indian.
  • Routine Info: Information on physical activity, sleep, stress, and Quality of Life (QoL) scores.

D. Multimedia Input

  • Images: Food image recognition data utilized by the diet optimization tool.

3. Use of AI and Technology

ADAM utilizes advanced artificial intelligence to automate and enhance your nutrition plan.

  • AI Processing: The application integrates an AI-based Virtual Dietician that provides adaptable dietary advice tailored to individual preferences.
  • Optimization: The optimization suggests menus to provide recommended macro and micronutrients based on the user's physiological status.
  • Purpose: The integration of CGM with the Virtual Dietician is strictly used to provide real-time, personalized feedback on glycemic responses to dietary choices.

4. How We Use Your Data

  • Personalized Nutrition: To generate personalized dietary recommendations for every meal and recommend a personalized low-carbohydrate, nutrient-balanced diet to maintain glycemic control.
  • Course Correction: To generate personalized dietary plans that adapt to the individual's blood glucose levels and previous dietary intake.
  • Health Monitoring: To flag hazardous episodes of hypoglycemia and hyperglycemia in real time so the participant can be notified immediately and to achieve a higher percentage of blood glucose within normal ranges, known as Time-in-Range (TIR).

5. Device Permissions and Connectivity

  • Device Integration: Used to pair with your Continuous Glucose Monitor (CGM) device to receive blood glucose data.
  • Notifications: Used to contact or notify you immediately in the event of hazardous blood glucose readings or if you fail to input your daily dietary recall for 24 hours.

6. Data Retention and Security

  • Data Integrity: The application captures the exact quantities, time, and date of the food consumed to maintain the accuracy of your nutritional progress.
  • Security: St. John's Research Institute utilizes data servers and cloud storage facilities to implement the AI-based tool securely. We maintain robust data management systems ensuring the utmost privacy and security of user data.

7. User Rights and Choices

  • Account Deletion: You may request the deletion of your account and all associated data at any time through the app settings.
  • Manual Entry: While the app supports automated diet optimizations, users must actively document their food intake via the dietary recall application.
